Most studio premieres are invitation-only. But there are legitimate routes to a seat, through charity premieres and film festivals. Here’s what’s been offered, with real prices.
Charity premieres
The Film and TV Charity has offered public tickets to UK premieres as fundraisers. The September 2025 UK premiere of A Big Bold Beautiful Journey is one example:
- Price: £100 plus a booking fee
- Date: Thursday 11 September 2025
- Venue: Odeon Luxe Leicester Square
- Ticket collection: at a hotel near the square between 5:30pm and 6:45pm
- Doors: 6pm, with seating by 7pm
- Dress code: Smart
- Cast: Expected attendees included Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell
The charity said it was an exclusive ticket offer. Check the charity’s events page for future premieres, and only buy from its official site.
BFI London Film Festival
The festival is the most reliable way for the public to attend a red carpet premiere. For 2026 (7 to 18 October):
| Ticket | Price | What’s included |
|---|---|---|
| Standard gala | From £10 plus £1 booking fee (£6 for 25 and under) | Seat at the screening |
| Opening Night fundraising ticket | £1,000 | Red carpet arrival, reception and seat |
| Closing Night fundraising ticket | £250 | Red carpet walk and seat |
The BFI notes that fundraising tickets do not include access to any red carpet photography. For details, see our LFF guide and the Closing Gala guide.
What you can’t buy
Fan-area passes for studio premieres are allocated by free ballot. They are not for sale, and anyone offering them for money is not offering something official. See premiere scams and how fan access works.
How to buy safely
- Go to the charity’s or BFI’s own website, not to a link from social media.
- Pay by card, not by bank transfer.
- Check what the ticket includes before buying: a seat, the red carpet, a reception or all three.
- Keep your confirmation email.
