Sylvia Fountaine is a skilled chef who has stepped into blogging. Her culinary and healthy eating blog demonstrates her love of cooking. Sylvia believes that our food contains all of the nutrients that our bodies require. This gives our bodies the energy they need to get through the day. One can only obtain these nutrients from good meals, not from anything else we consume.
Sylvia firmly believes that food is fundamental for functioning physically and mentally. Consuming healthy and non-processed can help us heal internally and externally. Food is an essential component of our lives; eating unhealthy and processed things can lead to dangerous circumstances. The enjoyment of such foods lasts for about an hour, but the pain they can cause can be long-term, as bad foods damage the immune system.
Sylvia has over 25 years of culinary expertise, having co-founded Mizuna Restaurant with Tonia Schemmel and later Feast Catering Co. (establishing Mizuna Restaurant with Tonia Schemmel, then founding Feast Catering Co.). She’s learned a few tricks for making cooking more approachable and fun. Even though she consumes primarily plant-based foods, she does not judge or define meals as “good” or “bad.” She eats only meals that make her feel energized, vibrant, light, and cheerful. Usually, these are plants!
As a cook, Sylvia is most inspired by seasonal, local foods. She feels that eating local produce cultivated near home is the healthiest option. It does not have to go as far as to produce from a traditional grocery shop. The tree or vine has more time to ripen and build flavor.
Sylvia adds that the nutrients in your meals support your daily activities, protect your cells from environmental harm, and help to heal any cellular damage that may occur. Protein helps to repair damaged tissue and maintain a healthy immune system. Carbohydrates and lipids both fuel your body, while vitamins and minerals assist your body’s operations throughout the day. For example, vitamins A, C, and E work as antioxidants to protect your cells from pollutants, while B vitamins aid in the extraction of energy from meals.
According to Sylvia, cooking does not need to be difficult, unpleasant, or time-consuming. Without compromising taste or presentation, healthy meals may be easy and appealing. Her objective is to instill confidence in individuals in the kitchen so that cooking may become the most pleasurable, relaxing, and creative part of their day. Rather than being a chore, it may be enjoyable.
Anyone who wants to feel their best and stay healthy as they age should adopt a healthy lifestyle. However, we are bombarded with so much information every day that it can be challenging to determine what is best for our health. Finding an inspirational blog like Sylvia’s blog is also essential to provide oneself with direction to follow regarding a healthy lifestyle.
