Content Publication Agreement

MarkMeets Content Publication Agreement

This agreement sets out the terms for commissioned commercial content, paid publication services and related submissions supplied to MarkMeets Media Ltd (“MarkMeets”, “we”, “us” or “the Company”). It applies to businesses, agencies, resellers and individuals purchasing these services.

Please read this agreement alongside our contributor and editorial guidelines, website Terms and Conditions and the written quotation or order confirmation for your service.

1. Scope of the Service

The services included in your order will be confirmed in writing before work begins. These may include publication, content preparation, editing, image selection or social media promotion. Services not expressly included in the agreed scope are not part of the order.

Unless a different period is expressly agreed in writing, the publication service includes a twelve-month website placement from the publication date, subject to the removal provisions below. Extensions or renewals may be available at an additional agreed fee.

Publication does not include a guaranteed homepage position, newsletter appearance, social media promotion or distribution to other websites unless specifically agreed.

2. Editorial Approval and Submission Standards

All proposed topics, articles, images, links and destinations are subject to editorial approval. Submitting material does not guarantee acceptance or create an obligation to publish it.

Content must be relevant to MarkMeets readers, clearly written, accurate and consistent with our editorial guidelines. You must disclose the identity of the client, advertiser or organisation represented, together with the commercial purpose of the submission.

We may request supporting sources, evidence of factual claims, image permissions or revisions before deciding whether to proceed. We retain the final decision on suitability, presentation and publication.

3. Restricted Content

Under this agreement, we do not accept content promoting:

  • Dating services.
  • Prescription medications or content presented as individual medical advice.
  • Cannabidiol (CBD), tobacco or vaping products.
  • Gambling products or services.
  • Firearms.
  • Explicit adult content, sex toys or sexually explicit language.
  • Illegal products, services or activities.

These restrictions apply to both the submitted content and its linked destinations. We may decline other subjects where they are unsuitable for our readership or create editorial, legal or reputational concerns.

4. Links and Advertising Disclosure

Links must be relevant to the article and lead to the destination approved when the order is accepted. Redirects, tracking arrangements, changes of ownership or changes to the destination’s content must not be used to bypass our editorial review.

Our standard link screening includes a minimum third-party Domain Authority or Domain Rating of 30. Meeting this threshold does not guarantee acceptance. These are third-party metrics and do not represent approval by Google.

Paid and advertising links will be qualified with appropriate link attributes, including rel=”sponsored” or rel=”nofollow”. We do not sell guaranteed ranking improvements or promise that a link will pass search-ranking credit.

Commercial content must be clearly identifiable where advertising disclosure is required. MarkMeets determines the appropriate wording and placement, which may include a prominent “Advertisement Feature” label identifying the advertiser. Requests to conceal the commercial nature of advertising will not be accepted.

5. Fees and Payment

Fees, payment deadlines and any additional services will be confirmed in the quotation, order confirmation or invoice. Payment is required in advance unless a different arrangement has been expressly agreed in writing.

Where payment after publication has been approved, the agreed deadline applies. If payment is overdue, we may suspend outstanding work or remove the unpaid placement or link. Any late-payment charges must be set out in the agreed payment terms.

Payment for a completed and correctly delivered service is not refundable merely because you change your mind or the placement does not achieve your preferred commercial results. This does not affect remedies for services that were not delivered as agreed or any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

6. Approval, Editing and Changes

Please check submitted copy, names, claims, images, links and instructions carefully before approval. Client-requested changes after publication are not included unless expressly agreed and may require an additional fee.

We may edit headlines, wording, formatting and images to meet our editorial requirements. We may also add relevant internal references, authority links and appropriately disclosed affiliate links.

MarkMeets may make factual corrections, update outdated information or amend content to address legal, accessibility, security or editorial concerns. Material changes to the agreed commercial scope will be discussed where reasonably practicable.

7. Content Rights and Permissions

You must own the submitted material or have sufficient permission from the rights holder to supply it for the agreed use. This includes text, photographs, graphics, video, quotations and other supporting material.

Unless a separate written agreement expressly transfers ownership, copyright remains with its existing owner. Sending an article to MarkMeets does not, by itself, transfer copyright to the Company.

For accepted material, you grant MarkMeets a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to edit, reproduce, publish, display, distribute and promote it as reasonably required to deliver the agreed service. This includes necessary use by our hosting, publishing and distribution providers. Any additional syndication or reuse beyond that scope must be agreed in writing.

Image credits, licence restrictions and required attribution must be supplied before publication. We may reject or replace material where permissions are unclear.

No contributor payment or royalty is due for material supplied as part of a purchased publication service unless a separate written commissioning agreement states otherwise.

8. Your Responsibilities

By submitting material, you confirm that:

  • You are authorised to act for the client or organisation placing the order.
  • You have the rights and permissions necessary for the agreed publication.
  • Factual claims have been checked and can be supported where requested.
  • The material does not infringe copyright, privacy, confidentiality or other third-party rights.
  • The material is not defamatory, misleading or unlawful.
  • Any previous publication, distribution or conflicting commitment has been disclosed.
  • Approved links will not be changed or redirected to prohibited or misleading content.

You must notify us promptly if you discover a material error, rights issue or change affecting published content.

9. Publication Availability and Removal

We aim to maintain placements for the agreed publication period. Temporary interruptions may occur during maintenance, technical faults, security incidents or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We may amend, suspend or remove content where there is overdue payment, a breach of this agreement, misleading information, a rights complaint, a legal requirement, a security concern or a material change to the linked destination.

Where reasonably practicable, we will explain the issue and allow an opportunity to resolve it. Immediate action may be necessary where continued publication creates a legal or security risk.

If we end a compliant placement before the agreed period for reasons unrelated to your breach, we will discuss an appropriate remedy for the undelivered portion of the service.

10. Search Visibility and Campaign Results

MarkMeets does not guarantee search-engine crawling, indexing, rankings, traffic, enquiries, sales or a particular return on investment. Search engines and other third-party platforms control their own systems and may change how content is displayed.

Purchasing a publication service does not constitute an endorsement of your business by MarkMeets, Google or any organisation mentioned elsewhere on our website.

11. Agencies and Reseller Partners

Approved reseller terms apply only to the business or individual accepted into the programme and may not be transferred without written agreement.

The first order must be received within 30 days of approval. To maintain approved status and the agreed partner rate, resellers must place at least two paid orders in every 90-day period and comply with our editorial and payment requirements.

If these requirements are not met, partner rates may cease to apply to future orders. Resellers must not promise clients publication, undisclosed advertising, particular link treatment or results that MarkMeets has not agreed to provide.

Orders placed through a third-party platform are also subject to the platform terms accepted for that transaction. If MarkMeets is removed or suspended from a platform, we may stop accepting new orders through it. Existing paid orders will be handled according to their agreed terms and applicable platform procedures; platform removal alone does not automatically cancel completed placements.

12. Complaints and Responsibility

If you have a concern about an order, contact us promptly with the invoice reference, article URL and a clear explanation. We will review the issue and discuss an appropriate response.

Each party is responsible for its own breaches of this agreement. You are responsible for claims arising from material you supply without the necessary rights or from materially false information you provide.

Nothing in this agreement excludes liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

13. Agreement and Applicable Law

Your accepted quotation or order confirmation, these terms and any expressly agreed written variations form the agreement for the service. Specific terms agreed for an order take precedence where they expressly vary these general terms.

Changes to this page apply to future orders unless otherwise agreed. They do not retrospectively alter existing contracts.

If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. The agreement does not create an employment relationship, partnership or authority for either party to bind the other.

This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights or jurisdiction rules that apply.
