X Factor judge Gary Barlow has said he would like to make a comeback to the show to finally win.
The Take That star announced earlier this year that he would not be returning to the panel next summer.
But after Rough Copy’s exit at the weekend left Gary Barlow out of the running for the third series in a row, he may have changed his mind.
Quizzed about never having won a series, Gary admitted this week: “I’m disappointed.
“That’s a reason to come back somewhere in the future, maybe. Not next year.
“It’s been nice, I’ve had three beautiful years on the show. I’ve really enjoyed it. I’ve met some friends, friends for life, but it’s time to go.”
However Gary did stand by his decision to step down from the panel after this current series which MarkMeets first revealed earlier this year, and backed his former bandmate Robbie Williams to take over.
Gaz told reporters at Wembley Arena: “I would love to see him on this show.
“I’d love to see him on ITV2 – the best and worst bits. That would be brilliant.”
Meanwhile, Louis Walsh has said he is “pretty certain” that next year’s show will see a return for Simon Cowell.
Simon quit the UK series back in 2011 to launch the show in the States, but said recently he missed us Brits.
“Simon’s coming back, I’m pretty certain of that,” Louis declared. “Simon, I think, is definitely coming back to X Factor.
“He’s having some new faces on the panel. I’d say I’m 70% certain he’ll come back.”
This year’s X Factor UK final airs tonight from 8PM on ITV, live from Wembley Arena, where the contestants will appear in front of an audience of thousands.
The shows will also feature guest performances from One Direction, Katy Perry, The Killers, Tom Odell – as well as Elton John, who will perform his new collaboration with Gary Barlow, ‘Face to Face’.
