Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock – The Musical, which is currently running on Broadway, will transfer to the West End in 2016.
The West End show, which is based on the 2003 film of the same name, will run at the London Palladium in autumn 2016.

The composer confirmed the show’s London transfer as it opened at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York on December 6.
“I am thrilled to announce that we are confirming a West End production of School of Rock – The Musical. We have had such a great time in the US staging the world premiere and now that we have opened on Broadway, I am delighted to be focusing on the next chapter in the show’s journey,” he said.
Last year Lloyd Webber revealed that he was considering opening School of Rock on Broadway rather than in the West End because of the more relaxed child performance regulations in the US.
School of Rock has music by Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Glenn Slater and a book by Julian Fellowes.
The Broadway production is directed by Laurence Connor, with choreography by JoAnn M Hunter and set and costume design by Anna Louizos.
Alex Brightman maintains his own appealing brand of scruffy charm as Dewey Finn, amiably ceding the spotlight to a cast of super-talented kids who rock out on the kind of songs you always wished had been in the movie.
School of Rock will embark on a US tour in autumn 2017.
