When does MJ THE MUSICAL open in London

Michael Jackson was one of the greatest entertainers of all time. Now, Michael Jackson’s unique and unparalleled artistry is heading to the West End in the new musical.

Rather than just a celebration of his life and music, MJ The Musical is centred around the making of Jackson’s massive 1992 Dangerous World Tour and promises an insight into his “creative mind and collaborative spirit”.

Michael Jackson had a profound influence on popular culture, as well as all of us as performing artists, and this musical is an exploration of that artistic mind and a creative process which is unmistakably Michael Jackson.

MJ is directed and choreographed by Royal Ballet Associate Artist Christopher Wheeldon OBE for Best Choreography of a Musical for MJ, and whose previous Award-winning directing credits include An American in Paris.

Centred around the making of his 1992 Dangerous World Tour, MJ goes beyond the singular moves and signature sound of the star, offering a rare look at the creative mind and collaborative spirit that catapulted Jackson into legendary status.

The production opened on Broadway in February 2022, and it’s now been confirmed that it will be coming to The Prince Edward Theatre in March 2024.

This will be the second major Michael Jackson musical for West End theatregoers, after the successful decade-plus run of Thriller – Live.

The multiple award winning Broadway musical MJ will open in the U.K. at the Prince Edward Theatre, London from March 2024.

Tickets will go on sale in Spring 2023. Full booking details will be announced in due course.
