Celebrating Adele’s ’21’ album released 11 years ago

21 was the second studio album by English singer-songwriter Adele. It was released on 24 January 2011!

The critically-acclaimed LP became the biggest-selling album of the 21st century, with over 31 million copies sold globally. It spawned three #1 singles in the US, earned seven Grammy’s & ranks at No.1 on the Billboard 200 all-time chart.

Adele never seemed to portray herself as a stereotypical pop star; in interviews, she was giddy and obnoxious, and she frequently used a “cackle,” as critics and fans dubbed it.

She made one of the rare public declarations of her pop supremacy when she refused to release her 2015 album, 25, to streaming platforms, a move that was previously exclusively used by Beyoncé and Taylor Swift.

People bought her tangible recordings in droves, to the point where some speculated that Adele had single-handedly saved the music industry.

Track 4 Don’t You Remember
Track 5 Set Fire to the Rain
Track 6 He Won’t Go
Track 7 Take It All
Track 8 I’ll Be Waiting

Track 10 Love Song

While Adele’s first album was a worldwide success, her follow-up, 21 in 2011, earned her a place in the Guinness Book of World Records—21 is reputedly the longest-running No. 1 album by a female solo artist in the history of the US and UK charts.

Her legacy as an artist who could create once-in-a-generation landmarks with her music was sealed with the release of this album.

The album 21 is full of massive songs that are delicate and shimmering, bending but never breaking under Adele’s heaviness.
