Austin Butler reveals the truth about filming new Elvis biopic

Luhrmann’s movie follows Elvis from his childhood poverty through to his emergence as a global superstar before his untimely death at the age of just 42 in 1977

The news comes after Austin was forced to address claims his voice has completely changed.

In May, fans on social media accused Austin of putting on an ‘Elvis voice’ despite the film having wrapped in March 2021.

Some pointed out just how different his voice sounds now compared to what he sounded like in his break out role in the TV series The Carrie Diaries in 2013.

After investigating, several older interviews confirmed that Austin’s always had a relatively deep voice.

However, the contrast seen from his recent appearances – especially during his red carpet appearances in Australia – simply can’t be denied.

Austin stars alongside Tom Hanks, who plays Elvis’ manager Colonel Tom Parker, who was infamous for cheating the music icon out of a fair share of royalties for his songs.

Hanks believes his alter ego should be recognised for his part in making Elvis a megastar.
